Centre For Partnership

the Board Room – A network for housing association chairs

Growing Together

Developed and delivered by international law firm Trowers & Hamlins LLP and leadership and governance experts Centre for Partnership, The Board Room is an exclusive forum environment in which housing association chairs can learn, share experiences, develop ideas and forge networks.

The Board Room provides chairs with a way to learn the latest legal, regulatory and good governance and leadership developments from guest speakers; Trowers & Hamlins’ Mike Gaskell and Centre for Partnership’s Trevor Smith, in focussed sessions with their peers. It also enables chairs to meet with and learn from one another.

Housing association boards have always been responsible for delivering leadership and control; a tough challenge in the current climate. Under the current regulatory framework, there is a renewed emphasis on this role, and it is clear that regulators are looking to boards to deliver excellence. In this climate, more and more is expected from chairs.

The Board Room offers four half-day meetings per year at nationwide locations, in return for an annual membership fee of £250 plus VAT. If you are interested in joining The Board Room, please contact Trevor or Mike directly and they will take your details and provide you with more information.

The aim of The Board Room is to highlight what chairs need to know and do in order to tackle the critical issues and decisions surrounding the overall effectiveness of their organisations.

“The Boardroom has created a genuine opportunity to build networks and discuss hot issues, with some expertise on hand and enough time to really share, not just have a cup of tea and be pleasant to some kindred spirits.”
